What happens at your first consult?

After booking an appointment, we will email you an intake form, which will include a questionnaire about your symptoms as well as any medical history or personal background you’re happy to provide. This helps us understand a bit more about you before we meet.

An initial consult takes place face-to-face and is usually 45-60 minutes long; this gives us time to understand what symptoms are affecting you, and your concerns and ideas about possible treatments.

We’ll provide advice including nutrition and exercise recommendations specific to midlife, as well as treatment options including hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and non hormonal options. If you require any tests these can be arranged through us or your GP. Most women won’t require this as blood tests for hormone levels are not generally helpful.

We will then provide a prescription for any medication and of course discuss the plan for ongoing treatment, this may be either through your own GP or us at Willow Menopause.

After the consult you’ll receive an email with a personalised summary of our discussion, links to resources we recommend and information which you can choose to share with your usual medical health care professional (ie your GP).

And finally, but importantly, we welcome any support partners to attend the consult with you.
